Vadim Gluzman, universally recognized among today’s top performing artists, breathes new life and passion into the golden era of the 19th and 20th centuries’ violin tradition. Celebrated for his vibrant interpretations and technical mastery, Gluzman performs globally with premier orchestras and conductors, showcasing a diverse repertoire that spans from classical masterpieces to contemporary works. His performances are frequently heard around the world through live broadcasts and an impressive catalogue of award-winning recordings.
The Israeli violinist collaborates with some of the world’s leading orchestras and conductors, including Tugan Sokhiev with the Berlin Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, and Orchestre de Paris; Neeme Järvi with the Chicago Symphony and Orchestre de la Suisse Romande; Riccardo Chailly with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Gewandhaus Orchestra, and Gothenburg Symphony; and with the Cleveland Orchestra under the direction of Hannu Lintu and Mikhail Jurowski. Gluzman also performs at prestigious festivals such as Ravinia, Tanglewood, Grant Park, Colmar, and the North Shore Chamber Music Festival, which he founded in 2011.
Highlights of the 2023/24 season include performances with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra conducted by Juraj Valcuha, the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra conducted by Andris Poga, the BBC Symphony Orchestra with Sakari Oramo, the Philharmonia Orchestra conducted by Santtu-Matias Rouvali, and the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra conducted by Michael Sanderling. Additionally, Gluzman collaborates on projects with the Hamburg State Ballet alongside Angela Yoffe and Ani Aznavoorian, and performs concerts with his duo partner Evgeny Sinaiski. He continues to lead performances with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra in Columbus, Ohio, where he serves as Creative Partner and Principal Guest Artist.
Critically acclaimed for his compelling performances, Gluzman has premiered works by prominent composers such as Sofia Gubaidulina, Moritz Eggert, Giya Kancheli, Elena Firsova, Pēteris Vasks, Michael Daugherty, and Lera Auerbach. This season, he will perform the European premiere of Erkki-Sven Tüür’s Third Violin Concerto with the HR Radio Orchestra Frankfurt.
Gluzman’s extensive discography has earned numerous accolades, including the Diapason d’Or of the Year, Gramophone’s Editor’s Choice, Classica magazine’s Choc de Classica award, and Disc of the Month by The Strad, BBC Music Magazine, and ClassicFM. His recordings are praised for their interpretative depth and technical excellence.
In addition to his busy performance schedule, Gluzman is dedicated to supporting and mentoring the next generation of musicians. He performs on the legendary 1690 ‘ex-Leopold Auer’ Stradivari, on extended loan through the Stradivari Society of Chicago, which enhances the richness and historical authenticity of his performances.
